Purchasing Process

We believe that we need to start with the health of our Lab’s from mother’s on down!  We make sure momma has enough milk to handle her litters, and supplement if it is needed.  If at any time mom’s milk supply is insufficient, we have no problem hand feeding if we need to ensure their health thrives.  Our puppies are well socialized and raised in the house. When age suitable they are exposed to youngsters, other animals and all elements our sometimes crazy household offers.

This is our process for our puppies from birth to time of placement with their new homes:

From birth to about three to four weeks is bonding time with mom. To ensure a well socialized puppy we introduce them to several sounds, and smells. We make sure their nails are clipped, take pictures and pamper mom. This is when we introduce puppy food mush…yum!

Five weeks we de-worm and start introduction to outdoor elements, depending on weather. This is also the time we introduce the crate or kennel.  Gets a bit noisy!

Six weeks we continue crate training and socialization every day until the puppies are placed in their new approved homes. Mom of course, still requires pampering.   They get some play time with mom but they are done nursing and it’s more time for mom to roll them and do some subtle correction for biting.

Eight weeks (GO HOME TIME)  they receive their first series of puppy shots. After I make my decision on a keeper pup or puppies they are ready for placement with their new families. This is the minimum age requirement to fly out of MCI (Kansas City International Airport) depending on weather and flight requirements.

Your puppy will go home with a Victor puppy starter kit which includes a 1 day sample of puppy food, AKC registration papers, vaccination & de-worming records, collar.  If you desire to feed another brand I recommend mixing this with the Victor so their system can get used to the change in diet.

Our puppies are usually priced between $ 1,300.00 and $ 2,000.00. Price depends on the breeding fees and bloodlines involved. Our puppies are sold on a limited AKC registration.

We take deposits to secure your place on our puppy list. We keep the top prospect(s) from the litter. This could change your placement on our list.

When you purchase a puppy from Dawson Labs, you and your family become part of our Crew! We can arrange all of your shipping needs out of MCI – Kansas City International Airport. Additional charges apply for shipping to cover the expense of freight, shipping crate, and health/acclimation certificate. This service is limited to the airline restrictions. Delivery of your new addition can also be arranged Kansas City, Missouri and surrounding areas.  Approximate shipping cost range from $300.00-$350.00

Your final payment is due either before or on the day of pickup. Dawson Labs accepts cash, check, or credit card payments through PayPal. When paying by check, this payment must be received at least 10 days prior to picking up your puppy to ensure cleared funds. PayPal payment must be received prior to pickup; however, we charge a 4% fee of the total amount to cover service fees.
