We recently have added this guarantee, we acknowlege that not all defects in Labradors can be thwarted but we do our best through testing to minimize any occurances.   Dew claws are removed at 3 days old.  They are also vaccinated at 5 weeks,  7  weeks & wormed every 2 weeks.

Our 24 month genetic health guarantee is for a replacement pup only & applies to life threatening genetic disorders only.  ( See specifics on CHD below. ) Puppy must be vetted within 3 businesses days of receipt of pup.

These are the requriements to qualify and maintain the garuntee.

CHD or Canine Hip Displaysia 

Hip dysplasia (CHD) and other joint problems can often be attributed to environmental conditions as well as heredity. Studies have shown that CHD is 50% genetic as well as 50% environmental. Therefore, we cannot guarantee your dogs hips against any form of dysplasia that is attributable to non-genetic causes, nor do we guarantee a dog will obtain any particular Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) rating.  In the unlikely event that a Dawson Labrador Retriever puppy is suspected of being mildly dysplastic in its first two years, due to genetic cause, and is not functionally able to run or walk without extreme pain, this is the procedure to follow for the terms of the guarantee to remain in effect:

• I require that “Dawson Labs” be used as a prefix or suffix in your puppies AKC name.
• Your puppy must also be registered by 4 months of age.
• The puppy must have a preliminary OFA exam on the hips before 15 months old, and the results sent to us before 18 months of age. The dog must then obtain a final OFA rating at 24 months. We must be notified within fifteen days of a final diagnosis of mild hip dysplasia.
• PUP MUST BE MAINTAINED ON THE NUVET VITAMINS & ordered using my breeder’s code (79652) to keep your health guarantee in FULL FORCE.

Many breeders have started requiring this because, unfortunately, the majority of dogs and cats are not receiving a complete, healthy diet and many become ill and die  prematurely.
